Setup: NBU 6.5.2 on Solaris 10/sparc, Snapshot Client option, Veritas
Storage Foundation 5.0 MP1 RP4. The client is the master server itself
("bkp-master02").
I'm trying to do a "space-optimized instant snapshot" backup as
described on page 113 of the "Veritas NetBackup Snapshot Client
Administrator's Guide Release 6.5". It says that if a cache object named
NBU_CACHE exists, it will perform a space-optimized snapshot
automatically.
The backup is failing with generic error 156 ("This status code
indicates a snapshot-backup related error regarding Windows Open File
Backup or Snapshot Client."). I have enabled snapshot backups for the
policy, with 'vxvm' as the snapshot method. The backup policy works with
snapshots turned off, though it only backs up the symlink pointing to
the volume raw device.
