No danger at all. Images are on your disk in dirs called by the client server name.
So when you go into the BAR and you put in your source server, it goes and looks for any images in <install dir>/openv/netbackup/database/images/clientname. The bar then shows you what images are still valid. The client does not have to be in a current policy, and the policy that made it does not have to exist anymore. -----Original Message----- From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu] On Behalf Of Nate Sanders Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 1:34 PM To: VERITAS-BU@MAILMAN.ENG.AUBURN.EDU Subject: [Veritas-bu] Deleting policies In NBU 6.5.6, is there any danger in deleting policies via the GUI? Does this effect the ability to restore, reference, scan, search, or dig up information about old images on tape that used these now removed policies? -- Nate Sanders Digital Motorworks System Administrator (512) 692 - 1038 This message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
