Well It is not supported to do it yourself. Also PS are not exist anymore.
But you may find some of the people that are trained to do this (as PS) by
contacting your Symantec rep. I know that most of PS people have gone to
other companies (Symantec partners or competition)

What I had done to one of my customer was a custom cluster installation:

1 Configure the shared disk, hostname and IP with cluster software
to failover as a group between the two nodes.

2 Make a link of /usr/openv to a directory at the shared drive at thye
active node.

3 Install netbackup as standalone on the "active node" using the "service"
name as the name of netbackup.

(at this moment you can restore your NBU database)
4 install netbackup to the second node (just to configure the xinetd and
other conf files).

5 run a nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose

6 examine the way that nbu has configure the node name.

7 add the second node with nbemmcmd -addhost that way that will have the
same attributes as the first node.

8 shutdown netbackup on both nodes.

9 failover the group to the second node. Delete the /usr/openv and create a
link to the storage, the same way as you did in the first node.

After that netbackup is working as "clustered master server" on both nodes.
Of course you have to configure the cluster yourself, or as I did, leave the
cluster in manual failover.

My English are not so good, but I think that someone with Unix and NetBackup
knowledge can understand.

Hello;

My aim is to make master server clustered during migration to the new
hardware.

So it seems it is not possible to do on my own without taking PS from
Symantec?

If one or more of these conditions is not met please contact Symantec
Consulting Services or your Business Critical Account Manager for
assistance.

1. The master server must not be clustered.

Hello,

Yes you can do it, with the same OS type. Not from windows to unix/Linux
and vice versa.

Hello All;

Is it possible to recover existing netbackup catalog to

Newly installed clustered environment in solaris with VCS.

I mean suppose that we have refresh installation with new hardware including
OS and NB (with the same verison and the same

Patch level as the previous one).

And then, recover the existing catalog to the new clustered environment.

Virtual name will be the same as the previous netbackup master server name.
