The only thing that made me send this message is that there's no other person touching the servers here except me, and I have no idea how to break a mirror (on purpose) so I find it unlikely that it was broken by any person. It looks like vxvm has created the private region (rootdgPriv01) in the middle of the disk at some point on this server. What makes this intriguing is that I have another exactly identical server (by hardware & software) and it still maintains the 01 and 02 plexes and the private region is where it should be. Well, I won't worry myself senseless because of this though. You don't need to log support call with Symantec, there is nothing wrong with your configuration. The following are plex are not associated with any volumes: pl opt-02 - DISABLED - 0 CONCAT - RW pl rootvol-02 - DISABLED - 0 CONCAT - RW pl swapvol-02 - DISABLED - 0 CONCAT - RW pl var-02 - DISABLED - 0 CONCAT - RW So I can see from this output that your volumes USED to be mirrored with theses plexes. Now they are mirrored with "plex-03". eg opt-03 All your volumes are enabled and active and you haven't lost any data. So what has happened here is someone broke the mirroring and then re-mirrored them again, hence the name "plex-03" That person then deleted the subdisks but forgot to delete these orphan plexes. So rest easy, you have not lost any data and there is not need to force start any volumes. As a side note. If you ever get advice from someone to force start a volume without explain why you can force start it, ignore then. You NEVER force start a mirrored volume that can't be started normally. If it cant start normally that means there is a problem with one of the plexes. Now if you force start it, you could potentially override your good plex with your bad plex.
