This option is responsible to a different functionality. Specifically, in tracks changes to local working copies (using Leopard-only file changes tracking services afaik, so it shouldn't be slow at all..). Now I don't know if it tracks only the current one, or all working copies... Also, I really would like my local changes displayed immediately (so unchecking the box is not an option), but I don't want (or need) for my years-old working copies to be checked for changes with remote SVN server. When I decide to work with an working copy, the very first thing I will do it "update" it (and eventually find out if any changes were made to it) Reminders are great and useful, but not for the price of speed being unacceptable.
