A -1 for adding this by default. Part of why I like Versions is that there
is little clutter for non-technical users. For some people at our company
version control is hard enough without confusing extra panels that (to them)
is not core functionality.

Adding this as an optional feature, not turned on by default, is cool for
me. I am fine with FileMerge or Changes myself. I'll keep my +1 for Growl
notifications. :)
