When you do a checkout, select the trunk folder as the checkout unit, rather than the top-level directory in the repository, then give the working copy the name of the project.

I want to get a checkout of the trunk of my repo, but I don't want the
"trunk" folder to appear in my local file system. I'm coming from
tortoise svn, where that's pretty much the default behavior.

If I've subscribed to the whole project in versions (with trunk/
branches/tags visible), how can I do a check out so I get this on my
local file system:

/documents/projects/thisProject/[all folders and files inside of
trunk]

instead of:

/documents/projects/thisProject/trunk/[all folders and files inside of
trunk]

TIA
