One note though -- I attempted to update from within the app and it
got hung up on "Waiting for transactions to finish" even though there
were none (that I could see).  The "Quit Now" button didn't work, nor
did trying to quit from the dock.

I had to force quit, though on relaunch it appears that the update did
work.  Nothing in the console to report, but I am running 10.4.11 on a
PPC G5.
