Hi Oliver, Graphical clients like Versions aren't wrappers around the Subversion command-line tools. The command-line tools and GUI clients are each consumers of the Subversion APIs, and the Subversion 1.7 APIs represent their biggest overhaul to date. It's not a case of just recompiling and sending it out the door.
