The new datetime axis support is extremely useful -- thank you.

I've thought of one improvement which would be very handy: an option
to put date labels between the ticks, rather than lined up with them.

This is useful when plotting data with a higher time resolution than
you can show on an axis. For example,when plotting several years of
data at daily or monthly resolution, you may want only to label the
years -- by putting a tick at each 1 January (as Veusz already does),
and putting the year labels centred between the ticks (which I can't
work out how to do). Similarly, you might want to label only the
dates, while showing many points within each day -- again, it's
clearer if the date label is centred on the relevant day, rather than
being placed with the tick at midnight.
