Hi Ricardo - this was a bug. I've added the bit of code that was missing. This should work, though it may not be obvious. Go to the Edit->Default styles dialog box. Click on document in the left panel. Change width/height as appropriate. Click on save in the dialog box and save the defaults somewhere. Now go to the preferences dialog box and go to the "New documents" tab. You can then put the filename of your saved defaults in the "Stylesheet" setting.
