Hi Bernd,
As you noticed, it's not trivial: it would have to be done at the
page level, rather than the document. The document is, by definition,
the root of the widget tree -- and the holder of the data sets. Until
someone modifies the code to make multiple page sizes possible, all I
can suggest is using the page size of the largest figure you need and
then using a PDF or SVG editor to change the page size of the smaller
figures after you export them from Veusz.
