The OO interface isn't really a completely different interface. It's a convenient wrapper to the same underlying tree structure. In fact, if you look at the implementation, it often calls the old fashioned commands, but internally keeps track of the tree paths.

You're can use the normal interface methods (e.g. Export, Save, Print, SetData...) mixed with accessing the tree via the Root object. The Root object and the nodes just replace the To(), Set(), Get(), Add(), Remove(), Rename() methods (although they are still available).
