Hi all! I am a newbie with Veusz. I've already installed v1.24 on a Mac running OSX 10.11.4. I need to plot a data set as contours. The data are written in three columns in a plain text file. When importing the data file, I named the three columns as "x" "y" and "z".
I can plot "y" as a function of "x", or "z" as a function of "x", and all the possible variations. The dataset correctly appears in the "Properties" window of the 2d plot widget (type xy) But what I really need is a contours plot of the same dataset in the xy plane depending on the values of z. When I add a contour plot, the data set doesn't appear in the "Properties" window of the contour plot. The field "Dataset" is empty. So, I cannot plot the contours lines. I had looked at the manual, tutorial, FAQ, but the contour plot is not discussed in detail. So, I am writing asking for help from this list. What am I doing wrong? Thank a lot in advance!
