It is interesting but I am exactly the opposite.  Why would I keep a
big trout.  I have not caught bunches but I have caught enough over 5
pounds to remember my heart stop as I hooked, played and landed them.
I think of the time it has taken this fish to get that size.  This
fish is one that needs to regenerate the life of the river.  I take a
picture, thank them and let them go.  My father can't get this part of
fishing.  He was from a time when you kept everything.  However, he
also would have fish for many months in the freezer.  If my wife wants
trout, I head to a put and take stream (not now of course - aren't
many trout in Hawaii) take a few and head home.  Every time I would
let a trout go when my dad was with me I could hear him gasp.  I
really miss my time on the river.  In December I will be in Utah for
Christmas and I will get some time then.
