Jimmy,
I played a musical wind-instrument to recover from my pneumonia. It made me
take big breaths, stretch the lungs, and give them a good work-out (hurt really
bad at first- started with just a couple of notes). I also had paracharditis
with the double viral pneumonia. Doc said I recovered in a remarkably short
time, given the severity of my illness (50/50 chance).

If you don't play one, just get a harmonica and practice campfire tunes. It's
the lung work-out that's important, deep breathing, and getting lots of oxygen
to the heart, which is the key for more heart endurance.
Since you were a cub-scout master, well maybe you play one already.

But do check with your doctor, first.

Home on the Range,
Dr. Buggs and Nurse Veronica

Yep, but just barely. This damned pneumonia sapped all my strength.
Been 3 1/2 weeks now and every time I think I'm over it, I'm
reminded that I'm still not 100 %. Can't do much without breaking
into a sweat. Didn't realize recovery took so long.
