Thanks for all the great comments. It was a real pleasure to catch such a big Grayling. The Alaska state record is 24" so mine was really pretty big. They say that an 18" is great to catch. This one was a blast. He really did fight hard and during the whole trip we caught plenty of Grayling. Our main purpose was Rainbow trout and these Grayling are right in there, swimming with the trout, trying to eat all of the eggs floating down the rivers. Because the water is cold and very fast, all the fish we caught fought very hard, none more then the Silver Salmon.
As soon as I can get a picture of the big buck Salmon that I caught into the computer I will send it along.
