recipes/patterns for panfish (bluegill) made of these strips?? Thanks, Chuck
For panfish (Pumpkinseeds, bluegills, even perch and the likes - some don't
consider those "panfish" - I do...), I'd go with:
-doubled-bunny leech
(goes by other names, but essentially a strip of rabbit, poked with
the hook point in the middle, folded back on itself and glued together
hide-side to hide-side, then finished as a matuka-like
pattern... some VERY similar- named patterns exist, some almost
identical, some vastly different)
-Carp Candy
-Bunny Bugger
(wrap a thin rabbit strip as body material for a wooly bugger- style
fly, stroking the fur back towards the hook shank each wrap... works best
with "thinned out summer coat" fur - fur with shorter
fibers than most)
-various crayfish patterns
(forget the exact patterns, but a 1cm (~1/2 inch) x 3cm (~1inch)
strip works great as a claw, and you can "palmer" - term used loosely - the
body with the rabbit strip as well... good for shallow
panfish, or even better for moderately (10 to 20 feet depth) deep
smallies )
-your immagination is the only limit :)
Just my 2 cents,
-Pete
