nice to hear from you.  Can you post a small photo of your dalmation fly?
It sounds interesting, as I have used dryer lint for dubbed flies, too.
I have tied 'dog-flies', but for golden stones, since I have a gold-colored 
Shih-tzu/Lhasa-apso mix.
Her long hair also make great streamers, since it is supple and flows like 
marabou.
