If I make a rod from wood that I turn on my lathe, I just thought it would be a
nice contrast.
Maybe even a Stainless Steel reel seat. It sure would have a rather industrial
look.
I think I am going to schedule a weeks vacation to be there this year.
looks like some of the guys from across the pond and further away might be
coming.
I sure don't want to miss being there.

Would love to spend a day fishing with you my friend.

Thank you,
Alan Di Somma

Why is it that at class reunions you feel younger than everyone else looks?

        Alan,
I don't know of any other than some I have made from broken Graphite
rods. There was a guy from N.J. that gave a demo at the Catskill Rodmakers
Gathering who showed how to make them. I have used graphite inserts in some of
the Bamboo ferrules I have experimented with. If you get to come out for the
Sowbug, I can show you them.

          Tony:

Do they make carbon fiber ferrules?
          If not. why not?
if so, where do you get them?

          Thank you,

Allan, I thought I had shown you the Prototype . I have
caught 64 fish on it. To date I have made seven of them.
Will have to take it to Crooked Creek when you are here next
March.
I have three to make before March. The rod is 6'3" long in
two piece with a .052 tip at the tip top with a 9/64 ferrule.

Now THAT is a rod I'd like to see when you're done with it.
