If I make a rod from wood that I turn on my lathe, I just thought it would be a nice contrast. Maybe even a Stainless Steel reel seat. It sure would have a rather industrial look. I think I am going to schedule a weeks vacation to be there this year. looks like some of the guys from across the pond and further away might be coming. I sure don't want to miss being there.

There was a guy from N.J. that gave a demo at the Catskill Rodmakers Gathering who showed how to make them. I have used graphite inserts in some of the Bamboo ferrules I have experimented with.
