  Subject: Re: [VFB] Rope-dubbers respond

I like the video and the comments that go with it. Thanks.

I think my largest problem is not using enough dubbing to go on the thread.
There is no set amount of dubbing other than what your desired results call
for. Look at the segment that shows adding dubbing and subtracting dubbing.

On DVD #2 I will have segments on shaping dubbing segments, hard, soft, flat,
etc.

Still working on it and starting to get better at that part. Get the hang of
segment #1 first, and everything after that will be much easier and you'll
advance faster.

Also a few of the dubbings are not as easy to use, but that will come.
Again, see last comment. Very few dubbings are 'tough to handle' if you have
the basic technique down pat.

Don , Do you just loop the fishing line twice before you tie off or am I
missaing something? This depends on how you intend to proceed after the
rope-dub portion, and if you had the correct amount of rope length, or too
much. Trick- don't lose your thread tension- ever. The last wrap has to hold
the last segment in place. If you must remove some dubbing, feather, etc, hang
on tight and un-rope the trailing un-needed portion and snip it loose. Then
finish-wrap the front without letting off tension. Continue the front portion
or whip-finish the head.

With practice, you'll be able to make just the right length rope so you
finish where you want and not have to trim. Don
