Vince is from Upstate New York, a really nice young fly tyer with a
small shop near Lake Placid and some very famous trout waters. His
father has been a guide and tyer in the area for decades. Vince spent
several years guiding the area and also in Colorado. He's still in a
long recover from some heart surgery, but a very creative tyer and every
pattern catches fish.

It's a psychedelic hopper for sure. I don't feel like I want to rename
it though... I mean, it still is Vince Wilcox's pattern.
But 'psychedelic' is spot on. The multicolored foam I have as inticator
was found in Hobbycraft Superstore in England.
On his original pattern it's the same "type" of indicator... 'Wince
Wilcox's Psychedelic Foamicator'. LOL He sells it
in his store. Check out http://wileysflies.com He has a tying style that
I just love.
(And Mike: I have never tried the VW Hopper, but Vince swears by it.)
Just finished another fly from his collection: 'Drunken Humpy'
(Managed to bash up the rear wings though. But I'll nail it next time. LOL)

Buggs says you should call it the 'psychedelic hopper'.
Good submission for a TUI swap.

I like this Nick. Has anyone used it? I am looking for a
productive pattern. this one looks like it should float and be
easy to see. Does it catch fish?

Vince Wilcox's *'VW **Foam Hopper**'* ... the coolest foam

It's just "makes" the flybox... like a decoration in the
Christmas tree. I'm going to do one as earring. LOL
