Jack, Thanks for the tips. I am back from scouting, of all things, a bass lake in this area. Interested in stretching fishing season some by fishing for bass early season until trout season gets into high gear.
Local flyshop owner Fred Foisset has a pattern he calls ET that is a Calcasieu Pig Boat variation. This thing is huge (probably 1/0), purple and has several trailing rabbit strips and lots of flash...kind of looks like a squid. He swears by the pattern. Reason I asked about fishing tips is you can't cast this thing. You just kind of swing and lob it into an open spot in the tules.
