I am Tony and I could of not said it better.
I am sure Allan will not mind posting this message.

Wayne,

I'm not Tony, but Tony wouldn't put it like I will.

Tom Nixon was very much like Tony in a lot of ways.  He was a true gentleman,
kind and gracious to everyone, a pilot (what is it about these air-o-plane
folks?), and one heckuva teacher.  He loved to teach and always took the time
to answer questions.  He related to everyone, not just to the 'famous' name
people.  To him, everyone was the same.  If you wanted to learn something, he
was delighted to be able to show you.

Doesn't that remind you of someone?

I was fortunate enough to be in Tom's home in February before he passed away in
May.  The ONLY two things that he expressed regrets about while I was there
were that he really missed his wife, and it irritated him that they had not
renewed his pilot's license the year before because he had suffered a heart
attack four years earlier. Tom was only 86 at the time and flew his own plane
till he was 85.

As short as the few times were that I had with him, Tom was one of several
really memorable people in my life.

(I'd tell you that Tony is also one of those truly memorable people too, but
he's already having enough hat-size problems after getting that wonderful
bamboo award from the Catskill folks.  <VBG>)

Looking forward to seeing you again in March.

Al
