The back end of any shooting taper line is a long length of level line. Few people need that much casting line, so you wouldn't miss 20' off the back end, and you could add more backing for the lunkers who try to spool you.

Any suggestions? Hi I am trying to make some fly fishing lines that are 20 feet length and I have not been able to find any non-tapered fly fishing lines that I can cut into 20 feet lengths, the fly stores I have been in have told me this type of line does not exist, but would think it does. I think this is something like what they would use on the Japanese Tenkara poles. Any suggestions on where I might be able to find some?
