What a terrible shock!! Since my last visit with Larry I have been busy as well as out of town, and hadn't checked my email. My wife and I are heading south for a couple of days to see some Shakespeare plays, and I thought I would stop and visit Larry since the road takes us close to the rehab center where he was staying. I knew there was a chance that he might have been released, and it was too early to call Shauna, so I decided to check my email to see the latest Larry news. Reading about his death was a shock. He was doing so well, and the prospects for recovery seemed so positive. Such, sad, sad news. We will all miss him terribly.

Hi Gang:

I sat near to Larry at mpst the Sow bug's that I've attended
Got to know him fairly well as we tied flies and told lies,
and bantered back and forth. Larry was a fun loving guy and
had a keen sense of humor. I've missed the last three Sow
Bugs and seeing Larry. I counted each day as incomplete if
I didn't get at least one email from Larry. Indeed, he kept
me laughing!

When I look back over the last several years, it's truly
shocking considering how many VFB'ers have passed. Just
drives home how frail life really is.

My prayers go with larry and his family. And, also with
the rest of our VFB fraternity. "we are family."
