YES, MIKE DID THE CERTIFICATE. I REPRODUCED THEM WITH THE TYER'S NAME ON THE CERTIFICATE,   ME THINKS WE'RE GETTING TWO THINGS MIXED TOGETHER, I.E. THE SWAP AND THE IOFF. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. WILL LOOK IN MY ARCHIVES AND SEE WHAT I HAVE LEFT, IF ANYTHING.

" A FLY TYING FANATIC"  IS MY POEM BUT, I FORGET WHO ENHANCED IT WITH A SHADOW OF A TYING VISE IN THE BACKGROUND.  I ALSO REPRODUCED THE STUFF AND MAILED IT TO EVERYONE IN THE SWAP

It's a name that evolved as an idea, rather than a title of an organization.  A comment was made about the VBFer tyers being so obsessed or fanatical about their hobby (and at time, we were pretty busy about posting).  That progressed to a dubious identity as a group. But then we had to have some sort of organization. And none of it was to be taken too serious.

So we held pseudo-elections, more like appointments, of certain fanatics to certain ficticious positions in a non-existent order.  JimmyD wrote a poem about us, and we came up with a list of 'Ye Rooles', and I think it was Keith Passant that put them all to paper with Ye Olde English type-face and jargon. We had the first 50 sign-ups as 'Charter Members', and everyone got certificates, a print of 'Ye Rooles', and participated in a big swap.

It was fun, the thread lasted longer than any other, even longer than spines vs splines.  Not being anything but fun, it passed into fond memory with the glory-days of the VFB under Byard.

I don't know who.  But it is the orginal title for the first 50 that signed on.
