I'd been fishing for almost 2 1/2 hours without so much as abump trying every fly the local shop claimed was "the fly" and decided it was time to bring out the heavy ammo. Figuring the fish are fished so hard in the fall that I need something completely out of their comfort zone which of course would be the Chili Pepper. I tied it on and the first cast rewarded me with a very nice 18-20" brown...not sure exactly how long since it broke off just as I was reaching down to unhook it.
