As I understand it, there are 3 major hook manufacturers in Japan - Daiichi, Gamakatsu, & Hayabusa and they also manufacture hooks for brands such as Tiemco.
Mustad are all made in China. To my surprise, Mustad have been losing money and have recently been taken over. Dai-Riki started by being manufactured in Japan and then Korea. The last batch that I purchased from Line's End were made in Korea, but the manufacturing could have moved since then. Partridge were taken over several years ago by Mustad and then about 2-3 years ago were sold back to a company in England called "Fishing Matters" if I remember correctly. For a period of time Mustad hooks and Partridge were made in Singapore until Mustad opened it's own manufacturing facility in China where both Mustad and Partridge production moved to. To the best of my knowledge, Partridge hooks are still made in China by Mustad. Eagle Claw are still made in USA as far as I know. In Europe, there is a popular brand called Kamasan. These hooks were originally made in Japan by Hayabusa, but then changed to another manufacturer and then again. It would not surprise me if they are now made in China. This has resulted in less confidence by some former users who have switched to another brand. In my opinion, one of the very best hooks are those made by Hayabusa, but I have to import them from the UK where they are also sold as Fulling Mill as Scorpion hooks. Then there is Grip hooks by Scientific Fly located in South Africa. I don't know if these hooks are actually manufactured by Scientific Fly in South Africa or whether the hooks are manufactured elsewhere according to Sccientific Fly specifications. There are two or three smaller hook manufacturers in the Czech Republic the best known of which is Knapek.
