I have not been paying attention to email for a number of months, and noticed I had over a thousand emails on the Comcast site I use just for VFB, and was tempted to delete them all, but then thought "No, I better check and make sure that no one has died." Sadly, someone had.
I met Mark and his wife when I last attended Sowbug, I loved the large, bold and beautiful saltwater patterns he was tying then, and enjoyed meeting his wife even more. They were a fun, happy couple, who often participated together at various fly tying expos. I can remember thinking, "This is what I would like to do when I retire, be just like Mark." Well, I have retired, but the Expo fly tying hasn't materialized. Mark was a lot like his flies, a big personality who commanded attention. I was fun to get to know him, and I had looked forward to meeting him again. A sad, sad loss. My prayers and best wishes go out to Misako.
