On one of them the ferrule station was .015 difference in size. A standard ferrule would be hard to fit. On another, the bamboo had worm holes in some strips. Maybe I am too critical because I make bamboo rods but worm holes is just going too far. The ones I have seen were not finished. They were just unfinished bamboo. I am sure there are better kits out there but I have not seen them You can finish with Flex Coat but that is not traditional, I have seen it done. When I first began making bamboo rods, I finished one with Flex Coat light, I gave it to my son in law and every time I see it I just want to look the other way. I have used Flex Coat on over 100 Graphite rods, it is OK for them.
