I typically lip bass; it's quicker to get the fly out & the fish back in the
water & you don't touch the protective layer on the skin of the fish. When
I'm using a net, as w/ trout, I rarely need to touch the fish @ all.

Subject: [VFB] fish handling

I have just finished watching the Walmart Bass programme that we get in
England and was wondering if the way these fish are handled has any
detrimental effect on them.

We are taught to hold fish supporting their bellies etc but a lot of Bass
get swung on to decks and held up by their mouths.

I am not critising and dont want to start any arguments, just curious if it
does harm the fish or not.

On a lighter note, my last scan results showed tumors to be stable and at
the moment i feel pretty good.
