I went to help with this month's Project Healing Waters outing. Mr. 'celebrity' was there with his two boys. He had never fly fished. So they went out in the boat with me. Another fellow came along who is a really good 'coach' had Jeff and his oldest boy (12 yrs) casting pretty well. The six yr old didn't try it - he used his Zebco. Quite a few bluegills and bass were caught - all on Rick Zeiger's "Goldie Junior" till the last 45 minutes, when they started hitting poppers. I basically managed the boat in the light breeze that kept blowing us out to the middle. But having one of my all-time favorite pro football players fish with me was an honor. Jeff Saturday is the former pro-bowl center for the Indianapolis Colts. Jeff is a true gentleman and about as nice a guy as you would ever want to meet. That was followed by a birthday party for two of my great-grandkids. All in all a it has been a good day. But I'm pooped. <G> a. p.s.: We had a ton of vets and a ton of mentors.
