Looks like the Mosquitos that I tied for Peggy’s swap about two years ago. As I
recall, it was all tied with grizzly hackle?

Someone mentioned the McGuane's special fly being very successful. Kindly let
me know the pattern or where to find a picture of this fly. I've been searching
to no avail. Thanks. Joyce

McGuane's Favorite Fly

In celebration of Fly Rod & Reelnaming novelist and conservationist Thomas
McGuane 2010 Angler of the Year, Bob White sent McGuane a commemorative print
titled “An Outside Chance” with a pencil drawing of an Adams tied with turkey
quill, one of McGuane’s favorite patterns: “It’s an idea swiped from an old
Michigan fly, the Borcher Special, and really adds to its bugginess,” McGuane
says.

essays of the same name…
