I remember ppl way back in the 70’s or 80’s making things like boxes that you’s
then in turn put a box of Kleenex inside of the plastic canvas box, and things
like that. This stuff looks like it could have a LOT of potential fly tying
uses. I’ll have to pick some of it up Monday when we go to town for sure. Chuck

Subject: [VFB] Another way to hold flies while drying

I seldom post because, like many of you, I find Google very annoying. I saw the
post about the mini-grabbers on my tablet but can't find it on my desktop?
Anyway, an easy way to hold flies while they are drying is to buy a sheet of
plastic canvas at Michaels or Walmart or any craft store. They are less than a
buck! There are many ways you could make it fancy, like cutting slots in a
board and gluing strips in the slots. I just bought a sheet and laid it on top
of one of my plastic cabinets. Currently I'm making jigs for a friend and I
hung the jigs in the plastic while they dried. This won't work for heads that
need to be rotated!

Also, when I get back from a fishing trip, I pull the flies I've used out of
the pill bottle I store them in. I put them on the rack and they dry overnight.

Cheap and simple.
