when it comes to working with deer hair or similar hair(elk moose etc) the most 
knowledgeable person I know in that area of fly tying is Jack Dennis. If you 
can find some of his books or videos you will learn a ton of info. At one time 
Jack used to tie commercially and his deer hair flys were top notch.
