Folks: My new 55 pound thrust Minn Kota trolling motor came in via Fed Ex today and the motor on that thing is a beast. I put it on back of the boat and put the motor down into a 55 gallon drum I have filled with water, and it almost took off without a lake under it LOL.. Now, though, since the temps are plumetting each day,with the low supposed to be at least 10 degrees by Saturday, with 80% chance of snow Fri and Saturday I guess I’ll just have to dream about using it on the lake for a while longer . The thing is neat too as it has all kinds of safety feathers like some type of carbon fiber “flexible” shaft so that, unlike a steel one, if you hit an underwater log, rock, or whatever it don’t just snap the shaft, or break the adjustment gear teeth like the olden days.
