Sure is quiet on the VFB! I have just finished tying a batch of scuds/shrimps - mainly because I didn’t have many and those that I did have were tied years ago. I am preparing for the lake fishing season. In fact I am late in doing so and some of my friends have already been out. The rivers in BC generally don’t open until July 1st and then it is usually high water due to the snow melt on the mountains, but the snow was minimal this past winter and we could be looking at a low water season. Summer steelhead doesn’t start until late July/August until Oct - so lakes it is. A lot of anglers fish chironomids in the early season and hopefully a bit of dry fly action when the hatches start. I have tied some callibaetis nymphs and dry imitations which I hope to employ in due course. If anyone has a good callibaetis nymph or dry dressing - please let me know.
