Folks: I was wondering if anybody here sells (or buys) on the Arts and Crafts
site Etsy online?? If so, you know how ebay has the buttons you can click that
list “open listings”, “closed (or ended) auctions”, and “sold auctions” which
is auctions that show the items that actually sold and what the item sold for.
This is a great thing for sellers as it don’t matter if you run a million items
it doesn’t matter if the auction ended and did NOT sale. Anyway, does anybody
here know if Etsy allows you to look up items that have sold??

If the item don’t sell, you have to re-list the item and pay “insertion fees”
to run the item again, so you run it several times, when it DOES finally sale,
you’ll have ended up having more in fees than what you had in the item. And
the reason it’s sooo important too, is that if a zillion others are selling
hand turned bowls etc (which is what I plan to try and sell on Etsy) then there
might be too much competition for those items. Then, #2, just because you see
ppl who have listed their bowls for, say, $125 each, that don’t mean that ppl
are paying that much for the same or similar items. But it also tells me for
example that bowls are NOT selling, but hand turned vases (or even fly rod reel
seats for example) are selling, so I’d turn the type items that ARE selling as
although bowls are my favorite things to turn, if ppl are not buying bowls, but
are buying turned Christmas tree ornaments, then that is what I’ll turn and
list instead because like with fly tying and my 1,000 other hobbies LOL, I
enjoy doing it all.

I have never sold on Etsy, and ebay has “lost it’s roots” hich means it started
out as a way for ppl to get rid of their things they hd for sale, like a giant
internet yard sale, but it’s now mostly a gigantic “Made in China dollar store”
in large part, and ppl want stuff for nothing on there these days. Thanks for
ANY tips about Etsy. Chuck
