I spent the afternoon floating the local river with two friends on Friday and didn't get a single bump, let alone actually catching a fish.

And I enjoyed the heck out of it.

It was a beautiful day, I saw some neat critters (herons, kingfishers), my buddy caught a huge smallmouth, and Jeff Conrad, the guide, rowed his ultra-comfortable rubber fishing raft. The autumn scenery was gorgeous. It was a truly delightful day.
