Jack, I have the Barracuda Jr. and the small one I think it is called the
Sparrow or something like that. It is a small light weight Dyna King Vise. I
went to rotary almost 30 years ago and will not go back to stationery. I even
converted my old Regal to a rotary.Tony

I chipped the jaws on my Regal, sent them in and had new jaws in no time with a
warning not to put small hooks right in the tips of the jaws. They would only
replace them one time.Good people to deal with. I tye 99% of the time on my
Dyna King and use it at shows because they sponsor me.I think maybe I have too
many vises. LOLTony

I have had a HMH since I started tying and use it every week for Salmon flies.
It is a small company in Maine with a new owner and I've never had any
problems.
I use the Regal at shows as they sponsor my fly tying classes with 6 vises, it
also is just as nice, easy to use and so far have not had a break with one.
They also have a traveler that I really like, just move the regular head to the
stem and your are off with less that 8 pounds in your bag.

I have a Renzetti Traveler Rotary that I use to tie most of my flies from
sz.30 to 4/0. All without changing jaws.
I recently got a Dyna King stationary that I like very much. In my opinion
(which is worth as much as you have paid for it ) you can never have enough
vices.
Or is that vises?
Oh well both have their place!

Thank You,Alan Di SommaPhoenix, AZ.
Some mistakes are just too much fun to make only once.

I find myself preferring a conventional vise over the full rotary types mostly
because of the awkward positioning of the hand when attaching materials.
Currently I have a Anvil Apex that can do just about everything I want from
size 24 to 1/0 worm hooks. However, I have had thoughts of upgrading to a HMH
or Dyna King conventional vise. Does anyone in this group have suggestions or
experiences with these vises or similar ones? Has anyone used one of the A K
Best vises?
Looking forward to feedback.
Tight lines,Jack--
