Larry Writes; Unfortunately, "Jimmi' (ever wonder about a grown man that insists upon referencing himself in the second person?) and his cronies have made it painfully obvious that your not welcome if you're only interested in flyfishing and flytying. Larry
Hi Larry, don't know about the "Second Person" comment, but do know about the list. Kinda like when my Daughter, ( Who has her 11th birthday today), and I are tying together at the bench. We discuss materials and how they work together, but also discuss school, my work, how the cats are doing and everything else under the sun. It's all part of building relationships. The Fly Fishing and tying is the "Glue" that holds us together and as long as it doesn't get into a long dissertation about OT subjects the tying, fishing and swapping techniques goes on. We also need to contribute, maybe it is just a question, maybe a joking answer to a problem, but it is a contribution to the "Flavor" of the list. Whenever I make a post I am anxious to see where the replies will come from. Next door in Texas from Jimmy, a couple of states away from Tony or possibly from Germany, never know. I'm glad that your dedication is strongly vested in Tying and Fly Fishing, most of the folks on the list have many other interests as well, possibly the largest for some is making a living to support the family as well as the fishing. At times some "Levity" is needed to break the monotony associated with anything. I hope you don't drop from the list simply because you think some folks have a "Market" on it, that is not the case. Contribute some questions some time if things are slow, maybe relate a particular fly pattern that works for you as a "never fails on bad days" solution. But just lurking and gleaning information on your chosen hobby is hollow if we we don't at least try to spark conversation and get frustrated when nothing of particular interest is in the daily posts. Have a good day and just relax a bit, it's winter, fishing is slow and some will start to experience "Cabin Fever" soon so it may go OT ounce in a while but will always return to the intended subject, just like the salmon return to their spawning beds. Enjoy, Jimi
