Or, you can try the "drop - shot" . Tie on a section of tippet with a loop on the end. I normally nymph with 4X. Tie another piece of 4X to the loop and tie your nymph to this piece. Then, tie a slightly longer piece of 6X or 7X to the loop. Crimp your shot to the end of the finer tippet.
