John,

the complete address is:

http://rzillmann.tripod.com

The following is a bit OT - but might help a bit if looking for a web
offering.

Web-addresses have usually 3 parts:

Protocoll: In our cases always http:
node here: rzillmann and
domain. here: tripod.com

The domain name usually has 2 parts: the pure name (tripod, or
virtualflysbox) and the extensions: .com, .de, .org, .gov or .co.uk

When the wordwildeweb was born, all organisations who had their own domains
decided to call the computer, which was connected to the net and on which
the net-server (the pages) were located, www. Probably because of
WorldWideWeb. Therefore most of todays homepages start with www. Later, when
they saw that they have to distribute their web-offering over several
machines they named them www, www2, www3 etc.

Some hosting companies (like tripod) used the node-field to seperate the
different homepages which are located on the same machine. Therefore I have
the node name 'rzillmann', others might select badboy, flyshop, dryfly or
whatever.

Therefore if the www is not in a webaddress, which as 3 sections
(flyfishing.hosting.wow) you do not have to add the www. The protocoll part
(http://) is always added from the browser.

Last note: English speaking people very often omit the second 'n' in my
name.

Regards
Rene/Germany
