Dean,

They still do!  Careys and Spratleys are must-haves on those lakes.  I
had a long conversation last summer with a friend that runs a camp on a
lake in the Little Fort area.  He was the one who suggested that these
new "shrimp" patterns use materials too hard and slick, even though they
look incredibly realistic.  A Werner Shrimp - pretty simple to tie - is
the pattern of choice all through the Nehalliston region.

I would caution you in using Patrick's pattern "guide" as any kind of
definitive resource.  That's all I should probably say about that.

Thanks for posting that information!  Now I know I'm definitely going to
have to tie a few Tied-Down Caddis for old times' sake and a few Werner
Shrimp for my next BC trip.
