I got this ad in my e-mail, maybe others of you had too. And I had to chuckle.

·        Action: The bait or lure is placed on the device before loading. The “prongs” are squeezed together (a safe loading device is available and recommended) this firmly clips the bait in place before a split ring or trace loop is placed over the ends. When the fish takes the bait, the line will go tight or the angler will strike. In either case the ring will release the prongs and the hook will explode to at least three times the size giving the fish little chance of getting off.

I understand the sequel will be Cluster Hooks floating down on little parachutes with bright yellow indicators . Or , perhaps, "Smart" lures capable of tracing fish silouettes behind large boulders in rushing streams.  AH....the innovations of fishing. ;-)
