Steve, i've only been tying my own flies for around 6 months now so please excuse my ignorance if i'm way of track here. What about 'mohair', i have it in red, its shiny but not exactly flourescent type bright, i use it for patching up streamers for pike, i've still to perect these but they're comming along nice'ly, red mohair is exellant for these type of streamers.
