Fairbanks in January -- everything will be frozen solid -- it could be minus
40 or 50.

The only fishing available would be ice fishing -- and that could be damn
cold.

If you're there in February though, the Yukon Quest sled dog race is on --
it starts in Fairbanks this year and ends in Whitehorse --  lots of fun to
watch and usually a great party.
