I'd have to say, without doubt, that Baitfishers-on a whole- leave
alot more trash Lakeside or streamside than Flyfishers do...
That's pretty much the bottom line, doesn't matter who likes it or not, it's true! Splinta does bring up some very valid points, which I definitely agree with, namely, that you can be a flyfisher and still be a slob. He also said that flyfishing doesn't give rise to as much trash to leave behind. Therefore, doesn't it make sense that if one is going to be a slob and fish, that it would be better for the environment if this slob were a flyfisher...?
I'll certainly second what Dean has observed, compare the banks of Hot Creek to the banks of any other fishery where bait fishing is allowed, in that area, for example, Convict Lake or Silver Lake! Nobody is saying that all baitfishers are slobs, and yes, all of us had our fishing roots with an angle worm on a size 6 hook, which has not a hell of a lot to do with anything, but where baitfishing is allowed, there is more trash, no discussion about it!
