Thanks everyone for your input. Just starting the stonefly thingy. I need to get some proper materials for these things. Peacock wouldn't hold up for antenna when fishing I'm sure. After I do I'll get your input again... thanks for the pointers Dean, Glenn, & Mike. I'm going to try to make some various way's i.e.: antenna back, hackled legs, etc. I have a couple of questions... Is leg movement really important? Legs even needed? Don't stoneflies usually just tumble off of the rocks to the awaiting trout? So stiff legs probably wouldn't matter huh? I think stoneflies only have little breathing gills under the body by the legs and not on the abdomen so are materials that move & breath with the water even necessary other then dubbing by the legs to represent gills? Is it maybe more a matter of color, size, proportion and how the fly is drifting? My first try is kind of realistic but it didn't take long to tie up. Thanks for putting up with my many questions everyone.
